"On behalf of Expert Village my name is Bob Lanning. I'm here to tell you about making a train diorama in HO scale. We're looking right here at the town of Clemenceau of which existed from about 1915 to 1938, roughly. There's not much left of it now, but the museum as you can see, which was a school building, built in 1923 and 1924, still houses the school district and one end of it holds the museum that you see here with the railroad diorama. Clemenceau was incorporated into the city of Cottonwood about 1960. There's very few buildings left, but at one time it was a bustling city of about five thousand people with a dance hall, drugstore, community center, a bank. And, the construction of these building was done with the Adobe Photoshop, by taking photographs of the actual museum, which you can see the windows and then pasted onto the paste board, sometimes cereal box material. Some of the buildings are built out of bass wood, balsa wood, to represent the old buildings. The streets we're dirt back then and you can see we the period vehicles in there, the Model A's, some of the 1950's pickups, it was a real bustling area which now is incorporated into Cottonwood."
