"We come to the topic of the internet play versus the the live play. Not only of spades there are other card games that we could certainly talk about the concepts in general. Let's look at both ends of these. Live spades, well live spades have the advantage of being able to meet your friends in person. I've found in my tournaments a lot of nice, romantic relationships have developed. We've had fourteen marriages through grand prix tournaments so I guess I feel kind of good about that. But the thrill is meeting your online friends and having a good time. Maybe traveling to a city you haven't been to, and just the idea of sitting down at a table and playing cards, with real cards. I mean there is just something about playing cards that's kind of fun, and prizes. You know we give a lot of money away, trophy's, and it's great, great, great recognition. Disadvantages of live play. Well, if there's not a tournament locally, situated near you, you've got to travel. That cost money. You've got to pay hotels, you've got to pay meals and so forth, and trip fees and what have you, but overall it's a wonderful experience and I would hope everybody gets to play in a live tournament, and there's lots of good live tournaments out there. Internet play. Well, you can't beat the comfort of your living room, or your computer room and playing online. The computer does everything for you. I also want to mention, in live tournaments there's somebody who has to keep the score, somebody has to track the cards, and the tricks. When you play on the internet, Grab.com or any of the other sites that are out there, it's all done for you. Sit back, click onto a table, click onto a seat, find your favorite partner, grab a beer, put on some Led Zepplin in the background, and go at it. It's fun. You might not concentrate as well, you might now know if that seven of spades was good but, hey "Stairway to Heaven" is not a bad song. But in any case, the internet play is perfect for social playing. Some people take it a little bit too competitively. It's a great way to hone your game. It's a great way to become a great player, and you just can't beat the comfort, and you can't beat the price. So they both have their advantages and maybe someday you'll get to play in a live tournament but for now, check it out on the internet. It's a really good time."
