Diabetes is a syndrome distinguished by the body's inability to regulate blood sugar levels due to low levels of the hormone insulin or the body's resistance to the effect of insulin. Symptoms can include excessive thirst, increased urine production, and blurred vision. But if treated properly, which means blood pressure control, lifestyle choices, and proper nutrition and diet, the most adverse symptoms and resultant chronic conditions of diabetes can usually be avoided. Since the first step to controlling a syndrome like diabetes is to eat properly and control your intake of sugar, cooking and food recipes, like this series, are essential to the proper management of diabetes.

In this free video series, our expert Ben Hardy will teach you how to make a delicious dip for a diabetic. He will teach you how to chop the onions, mince the parsley, prepare the carrots, cut the celery, cut the peppers, prepare the cucumbers, squash and zucchini. Ben will also show you how to mix the ingredients, add a wet base to you diabetic dip, and chop the dill weed to add some spice. Finally he'll show you how to plate and serve your diabetic dip.

"Hi, this is Ben Hardy with Expert Village. Today we are going to be talking about dip choose for those on a diabetic diet. Today we are going to be talking about our dill dip. The ingredients that you would need is 1 cup or 8 ounces of reduce fat sour cream. 1 cup of fat free mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon of chopped onions, 1 tablespoon of mint fresh parsley, 1 tablespoon dill weed and 3/4 tablespoon of season salt. Then you can add any assorted vegetables. Your nutritional facts for this dish 2 tablespoons of this dip without the vegetables equals 32 calories and 2 grams of fat with 1 gram saturated fat."
