"Hello, my name is Angela Faiola and today on behalf of Expert Village, we are going to be cooking potatoes au gratin. For our next step, we are going to be cutting and slicing our potatoes. So my tip to you is cut it in half and if you are using a slicer like I am using, you better cut it in half so that way the slices come out nicer. You can also use a food processor or a knife and just cut them about a quarter of a inch. I like to use the Mandoline slicer cause it comes out very thin and that means that they would cook easier. After slicing your potatoes, you might want to put a little bit of water and a little bit of salt so they don't discolor themselves. You want to keep them wet."
