Twice-baked potatoes are a long time favorite appetizer at restaurants across the country. What makes them so popular, you ask? As logic would suggest, a twice-baked potato is twice as good as a once-baked potato. So naturally, serving this amazing appetizer at your next football party, get-together, or family dinner will make you twice as popular with the most important people in your life.
In this free cooking video you'll learn a recipe for twice-baked potatoes you can make at home. Expert Rich Buccola takes you through the recipe step-by-step, showing you the ingredients, utensils and cookware you'll need to make the dish. The next step is to bake the potatoes the first time. Once baked, you'll learn how to hollow out the potato and mix it together with the filling, adding them to the potato skins, topping them with bacon and cheese, and then baking them a second time. These twice-baked potatoes are easy to store and heat up later for a snack, at which point they technically become thrice-baked potatoes.
"Hi! This is Richard Buccola of New York City and on behalf of Expert Village, today I'm going to show you some twice baked potatoes. Alright, great way today to spruce up the old spud. What you're going to do is you're going to need some potatoes. It's real simple. What we're going to do is we're going to bake them like you would normally bake a baked potato. Then we're going to hollow out all the middle and add it into another bowl with some cheese, onions, butter, and sour cream, mix it all together, put it back in the potato, top it with some cheese, and put it back in the oven. Twice baked potatoes. They're awesome. Kids love them. I'm a big kid and I love them. We're going to come back. We're going to you right now, you definitely need some potatoes. One per person, two per person is good. You're going to need a little olive oil to fry up your onion. You're going to need a medium size yellow onion. You're going to need some butter. You're also going to need some sour cream. You're going to need salt and pepper to taste, and a little parsley flakes to give it a little pizazz. Also, your cheese. I forgot the cheese. Oh my goodness. You can't forget the cheese. Don't forget some sharp cheddar cheese. Those are your ingredients. Real simple, real great side dish, or just to give that potato and extra zam or that extra bam. I'm not trying to take anybody’s bam either, but it is great. Come back and we'll show you the utensils you need."
