Food has the special ability to give us more than just nutrition; sometimes it can make us feel loved, feel like the world is just a little bit better than it was two minutes ago. Homemade cuisine is especially welcome in a society that does everything on the go, including eating. "Hi! This is Rich Buccola here in New York City and today on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to make homemade chicken noodle soup. We're going to make some homemade chicken noodle. This is my grandmother's homemade chicken noodle soup recipe and it's awesome. What you're going to need a whole chicken. I got almost 5 pound chicken because I like a lot of chicken in mine. You can do with a 3 pound chicken too, but I put a little extra chicken because I like tasting chicken in every spoon. Get yourself a chicken. We're also going to need seasonings. That's what makes this great. I have fresh basil today. I have fresh basil, but I also have fresh bay leaf. You're going to need fresh bay leaf or dry bay leaf. I have fresh thyme, so I'm going to put a little bit of that in it. Fresh parsley, so I'm going to put that in there as well. This is stuff I just had in my kitchen so I'm going to use it. You're also going to need some seasoning salt. You're going to use some lemon salt or lemon pepper salt in this. That gives it a nice little flavor. You'll need some oregano, some Italian spices. You'll need a little bit of dry rosemary or fresh rosemary. You'll need some chicken stock, bullion chicken stock. You're going to also need some salt and pepper to taste. These are optional. I'm going to use some red wine and some heavy cream. That's how my grandmother used to do it. That's why I'm doing that way. As far as your veggies, I have some nice mushrooms. I have portabella, baby bella mushrooms, and actually just some regular mushrooms. You're going to throw in some garlic. It cures anything and it's healthy, and I use garlic in everything. I'm going to use an onion, some carrots, some celery. I had some corn and some peas frozen in the fridge. I'm going to use them. Don't forget though, you're going to have to put some chicken noodle because it's chicken noodle soup today. We're going to get some noodles in there as well and some old bread, or just some croutons. Any kind of bread that you have lying around. French bread is nice when you toast it. Come back. We're making homemade chicken noodle soup here on Expert Village."
