"Hi! This is Richard Buccola here in New York City and today on behalf of Expert Village, I am going to show you how to make split pea soup. So we are back. The first thing I am going to do is wash, make sure you wash your carrot. We are going to chop up our carrot really fine and before we do anything, let's peel our carrot after you wash it. I am just going to peel your carrot just getting that top layer. You know what works nicely and I didn't have them but actually they do have them, baby carrots work really good with this and you can just chop them up or leave them whole sometimes. Baby carrots are nice to put in this. Once you have your carrot peeled, I am just going to cut them, you know you can cut them straight down. I just think they look nicer sliced sideways like that. Just nice small thin slices with your carrot. So again, make sure that you are slicing it on an angle. You don't have to, do whatever you like. I'm just funny sometimes in the kitchen. But again, thin thin slices. You want them to be about this thin. "
