"Hi! This is Kevin for Expert Village talking about how to avoid razor burns and cuts. A big choice is what razor to use. Starting with do you want an electric razor or a wet razor. If you have a problem with razor burn, if you have sensitive skin, I really recommend going with the wet razor. With the wet razor it's easy to control the direction once the razor contacts the skin. Also with the wet razor, you can better control the pressure of the razor hitting the skin. If you want to get an electric razor, at least get a modern one that you can use shaving cream with. Really I recommend wet razors for better control. There are choices. Everything from 1 blade to 4 blades on a single head. There are disposable razors and there are razors with replaceable cartridges. I feel that the disposable razors are not necessarily the best choice because they can take a very rough angle against the face. It's too easy to shave too deeply and irritate the skin. On the other hand, the heads with 3 or 4 blades, that's a lot of razor contact against the skin, so that can cause a lot of problems too. It's a well designed razor with maybe 2 blades and a moisturizing strip. It gives a smooth shave, yet it helps to protect to the skin. It makes it easier not to shave too deeply. Try different razors. See which one gives you the most general shave."
