What to Expect After a Facial

"Hi. Teri Lynne here on behalf of Expert Village and in our final segment on home facials I want to leave you with a few things to think about after your facial is done. So these are things not to worry about but they are things you can expect after you get your facial or after you do your own facial. You might experience some sensitivity. That's because some of the things, if you use anything with alpha hydroxy in it, it's a pretty strong natural agent on your skin. Your skin might react to it a little bit. The scrubs, your face might feel almost a little sore or sensitive. It's completely natural. You might experience redness. That's because all of the old skin cells have sloughed off and you've got some new fresh ones. So expect some redness. That's normal as well. And some people experience breakouts because they are not used to having, what happened is we've pulled out all these impurities and some of them start coming up in the form of acne. And it's natural and after you've done a couple of facials that will start to completely clear your skin of those impurities. You won't get the breakouts any more, but the first couple of times you do one you may experience those things. It's completely normal. Don't panic. Those are things that you can expect. So if you want to do a facial for a big event or night, an occasion, I don't recommend doing it the day of because you might get some breakouts, sensitivity and redness. So do it maybe a few days before, maybe four or five days before, the event you want to go to look your best. And those are things you can expect when getting a home facial, some of the after effects here on Expert Village."
