"Hey everybody, my name is Matt and I'm speaking to you on behalf of Expert Village. You can also use masks in Pixelmator, masks are a very powerful tool. If you come up to layer, and come down to add layer mask, you'll see in your layer it's going to add another square beside the little thumbnail. Make sure you select, have that selected, and if you come over to your brush and I'm going to select, make sure you select white, the color white and if I draw it's going to, it looks like it's erasing, but it's not actually. If I change my white back to black, I can come in and paint back in what looked like was just erased and that's how masking works. You can also use shades of gray as well and that's going to make it more opaque, so if I add something, another layer underneath here you could see that coming through. Another thing that you could do, you could add quick masks. If you come over here, and click on this, it's a little orange square with a circle in the middle, I'm going to come in with my gray and start drawing. And if I go back and click on the square beside it, as you can see, it changed what I just drew into a marquee selection and that's how you add a quick mask."
