"Hey everybody my name is Matt and I'm speaking to you on behalf of Expert Village. When you first start up Pixelmator, you'll see quite a few windows. Over here on the left, you've got your tools window, from here you can select your different tools such as your paintbrush. You've got a pencil and eraser, a paint bucket, quite a few different tools which we will get into a little later. Over here on the right, you've got your layers window, from, you can create layers here which we'll get into a little while as well. You can blend them together, change their opacity, and do a couple of other different things. Below that, you've got your brushes, here you can select your different types of brushes you use to paint with. Below that you've got your swatches, this is where you select the color that you want for your brush. And over here on the bottom left are your tool options, these are going to change depending on what tool you have selected as you can see. And I am going to create a new window, I'm going to go up to "file" and come down to "new", and when you do that, you're going to need to give your project a name. I am going to leave this untitled. And then below that you can change the width, height and resolution, I'm just going to do a 640 by 480, that's going to create a window that's 640 by 480 pixels. You can also select inches over here on the right if you want. And I'm going to leave the resolution at 72 and click okay and that's going to give me a blank canvas. "
