Getting Public Transportation Directions in Google Maps

"MAN: So now, I'm going to show you how you can get public transportation directions in Google Maps, and this is powered by Google Transit, which exist on its own at google.com/transit if you want to look at it. And this is where they list all the available places that this service you can use right now. And I'm sure they're going to be adding to this over time. So if you're not--if you can't use this right now, you may check later. And I'm not going to go through them all 'cause there's quite a bit. But basically, what this is, is Google will offer directions based on the public transportation in the area, and with Austin, that's the Cap Metro bus. So let me just show you how it works. So I was in Google Maps, and I just did some get directions. And it's showing me driving directions right now. But if the public transportation directions are available, you'll have this option right here. And I'll just click on that, take public transit, and it switches over to public transportation directions. And just for this trip right here, I got three stops unless we know this means that I'm taking a bus and I'm going to have to walk as well on this stop. This stop is just a bus. This stop I have to walk as well. And it gives you the detailed directions right here. It says walk to the 22nd and Guadalupe Loop, and then you want to take the 456 Gold Dillo, and then you continue and then walk to your destination. So that's a really cool way to get public transportation directions and a real easy way by using Google Maps. And you can see that I can click on the little bus right here just to get more information as well. I mean, it's in the side of the search results but it's also on the map. And you've got some other information right here. So that's how you use the Google Transit and you can get public transportation directions in Google Maps."
