Summary: How to put Google maps with cell phones; learn more about Google features and interfaces in this free instructional video.
"MAN: So now, I'm going to talk about how to get Google Maps on your cellphone. Now, I can't actually show you because we're on the screen here, but what you will need to do is send your cellphone's browser to www.google.com/gmm. And then it will ask you to download it and all that good stuff. And so if you have a cellphone that can handle this kind of maps, it has to be a cellphone that can access the Internet most likely. This is--I really highly recommend downloading this. I downloaded it, and I ended up using it all the time. It works so much better than a map program that came on my phone. So I really recommend trying it out. And it has almost a lot of the same features that I've been showing you in Google Maps like the traffic. You can turn that on. You can get those step-by-step directions. And the way it works--and the phone is it will give you the first step. And then when you're ready to go to the next one, you click a button and it goes to the next step, click a button to the next step. So it's really cool step-by-step directions. And then you can also just like integrated search results in the map, you get the same thing on your cellphone. So when I search for a business on my phone and I found what I'm looking for, I click on it, it has the phone number right there. So if I want to call him, I'll just click one button. So I'm searching for the place, find the phone number, and I'll call them and they're all in Google Maps. And it's--it even got like some of the great things, even like satellite views are on there. It's just kinda fun to play around with. And it's easy to move around the maps, of course, and just everything works really well and I've never had a problem with it. So if you have a phone that can handle it, I really recommend installing Google Maps on your phone, just go to gmm. And the thing that they just launched when this video is being made is the My Location feature, which is really cool. It's basically it uses cellphone towers around you to give you an approximate location of where you are without having to use GPS. So that is just an awesome feature if you're lost or anything like that. And you can get like--use it and come up with the my location and you'll see a little dot with the circle around it showing you the approximate location and you can get directions from there or anything like that. Great thing if you're lost and just great to play around with. So that's Google Mobile Maps, and I highly recommend it downloading it if you have a phone that can handle it. "
