"Hello, I'm Mark Walker, on behalf of Expert Village. In this segment we're going to cover installing the valve cover gasket part 2. It's not necessary to coat these with sealant protection. In two places where you have got the rapid change in the corner, where it goes from the flat surface to the big half moon shape, those are high probability areas for leaks. So as a little bit of extra precaution we will apply a small bead of silicone. You can apply it to the gasket itself, or inside the valve cover at each one of those spots, in each corner. And what that does is it helps to ensure a good, solid seal when it's pressed into place. Because that?s where a transition occurs, where it goes from a flat to a curved surface, and that extra bit of silicone, will help ensure it gets a good seal. In case the rubber doesn't squeeze out and fully seal all those tight little corners. That potential for leaks exist on both sides of the valve cover gasket, once it's installed we have sealed up the potential for a leak from the over to the gasket. We also need to put a little silicone on there to cover it from the gasket to the engine block. I will just duplicate the same procedure on the engine head, small bead of silicone in the same four places. Now we have completed installing the new gasket in the valve cover, and we have added the silicone necessary at the two cam locations, so we are now prepared to install the valve cover gasket. Please watch our next segment on installing the valve cover"
