"Hi, this is Jim Goettler on behalf of Expert Village. This is a video series about managing a political campaign. Whether or not to have an office is major decision every campaign is going to have to take on. It's going to be an expense for you, which you may cringe at at first, especially for a small campaign at the local level. The advantage of having an office is it gives you a place outside someone's home or apartment where you can get the work done and a public place where the public folks can come in, ask questions, get information, and plug into your campaign. A campaign office need not be fancy. It can be a store front. It's usually rented for a short term, which obviously makes obtaining such an office a bit of a challenge sometimes, but you are looking for something you are looking to rent for a few months. It need not be fancy. There are all kinds of tricks you can use to keep the cost down even further by using surplus furniture and getting as cheap things as you can that work obviously into the campaign office. It's a working space that you're going to use for a few months, and you're going to give it up. For state-wide or regional campaigns, you may want to think in terms of one or two field offices, which I'll get to in a moment. Thank you."
