"The Bossa Nova is a style of samba, it's a more of a relaxed feeling like a little bit softer, a little bit smoother. It originated in Brazil in about 1958, there was about a 6 year period in 1958 to 1963 in which this style really developed. One of the big players that was Gilberto, you have to check him out because the first hit Bossa Nova single was written with him. So check out that record you have to hear this of course the most important you have to hear his music before you can play it. There is a movie called Black Orpheus which came out in 1959 which kind of popularized the Bossa Nova the music was introduced to a lot of people for that movie. The Bossa Nova like I said it's just an auditation of a samba and I'll play a basic samba groove for you. (playing drums) That's a basic samba. (playing drums) It's just a little bit smoother it feels a little bit different so check it out research yourself there is a whole lot of information out there. I can't begin to tell you this minute in a half I have here so keep checking it out. "
