"Hi, I'm Shaun Schaefer on behalf of Expert Village. Today we're going to be learning how to play a drum roll. So now that we know what Open-Close-Open is, and we've talked about our single stroke, our double stroke, and bounce, it's time to play a drum roll. We're going to do the Open-Close-Open method. Open being the single stroke, close being the double stroke where we're allowing the bounce to come in. And then back out to the single stroke. For me, most importantly in how to play a roll is the transition between the single stroke and the double stroke or when we go from the non balanced to the balanced if that easiest to remember. That's the most important part, is the transition. So let's go ahead and take a look at playing a drum roll. We're going to use the Open-Close-Open method starting out with our single stroke very slowly. And as you can see, one note's being produced per wrist movement. Let's speed it up. Still single stroke. Still single stroke. Bounce. Back to single stroke. That's Open-Close-Open. That's how to play a drum roll. So on behalf of Expert Village, I'm Shaun Schaefer. Thank you for watching. I hope to see you next time, keep practicing."
