"Hi I'm Shaun Schaefer on behalf of Expert Village and today we're going to be learning how to play a Bossa Nova drum beat. Now that we've got the snare drum pattern down and the high hat pattern down together let's go ahead and practice the snare drum with the kick drum, because these two instruments are not playing at the same time all the time where every time you hit a snare drum you are hitting the high hat. We're going to get used to playing the kick drum pattern and the snare drum pattern at the same time. Now, I do have my little map our here and it's going to help me out greatly. Let's go ahead and start counting and let's do it very slowly. One E and ah two E and ah three E and ah four E and ah one E and ah two E and ah three E and ah four E and ah one E and ah two E and ah three E and ah four E and ah one E and ah two E and ah three E and ah four E and ah one. Now, if that's too fast go ahead and slow it way down. One little tip I do want to show you in regards to our music is I had showed you earlier before that the snare drum playing on the and, and then E, and then the actual down beat, and then the ah and how it always come up, well if you look in regards to the kick drum pattern, this one it's two away from this first kick drum note, right, then it's one away from that kick drum note, then it's on that first kick drum note and then it's on the second half of the kick drum. That's just a way to practice to feel between the kick and the snare and what they are doing together. It's just another little helpful hint when you're practicing the kick and the snare drum. Let's go ahead and take a look at our next step."
