"Hi I'm Shaun Schaefer on behalf of Expert Village and today we're going to be learning how to play a Bossa Nova drum beat. Now that we know what our snare drum pattern is going to be doing let's go ahead and practice playing the snare drum pattern. I am going to bring out the map, our little sign post, our little puzzle again. I'm just going to set it right here on the floor tom, in case I need it. Now, we are going to be playing the snare drum with the side stick, so remember we are going to flip the stick over, ok, so we're playing with butt end of the stick. Remember, keep your palm on the snare drum head and the tip on the head and you're just going to lift like that. You know, it's not up here, you know, it's just a couple inches. Let's take a look. Let's start counting and let's play our snare drum beat. I just wanted to play that last one silent just so you could kind of hear, without my counting getting in the way, how the snare drum kind of feels.
