"Hi I'm Shaun Schaefer on behalf of Expert Village and today we're going to be learning how to play a Bossa Nova drum beat. Now that we know what the kick drum is doing as far as playing on the ahs and the down beats we're going to go ahead and throw in the high hat and practice those together, because it is kind of throwing a little wrench into the thing. We're used to playing the kick drum by itself and now we're going to play the high hat. These two things I feel are the heart beat or the pulse of this particular beat. We really want to make sure that these two things together are super solid. So, let's go ahead and we're going to play the sixteenth notes on the high hat with the right hand and then play the kick drum pattern. Let's get counting. One E and ah two E and ah three E and ah four E and ah one E and ah two E and ah three E and ah four E and ah one E and ah two E and ah three E and ah four E and ah one E and ah two E and ah three E and ah four E and ah one E and ah two E and ah three E and ah four E and ah one E and ah two E and ah three E and ah four E and ah one. Now you notice that I'm not really slamming the high hat, it's kind of just like real light. I'm not really slamming the kick drum either, that's kind of a side note. Let's go ahead and take a look at what the next step is. We're almost complete with our Bossa Nova drum beat."
