"Hi I'm Shaun Schaefer on behalf of Expert Village and today we're going to be learning how to play a Bossa Nova drum beat. Now that we know what we're supposed to be doing with the kick drum let's go ahead and practice counting and playing the kick drum pattern by itself. It's important to kind of isolate the different aspects between the kick drum and the high hat and the snare drum because it's; you're going to be able to play it quicker when you understand what each thing does by itself. So, let's go ahead and count our sixteenth notes, remember the kick drum plays on the ahs and the down beats. So, one E and ah two E and ah three E and ah four E and ah one E and ah two E and ah three E and ah four E and ah one E and ah two E and ah three E and ah four E and ah one E and ah two E and ah three E and ah four E and ah one E and ah two E and ah three E and ah four E and ah one. As you can tell, as I'm counting I'm kind of accenting the ahs and then the down beat with my kick drum because that's the feel. It's that dada, dada. Let's go ahead and take a look at our next step in playing a Bossa Nova drum beat."
