"Hi I'm Shaun Schaefer on behalf of Expert Village and today we're going to be learning how to play a Bossa Nova drum beat. Let's go ahead and do the kick drum because the kick drum is the second easiest thing. Actually this is; we're going to be playing this with our right hand up here on the high hat. So this is our kick drum and the kick drum is going to go down here. Now the kick drum plays on the; let's do this first. If this is how we count sixteenth notes; one E and ah, right, and ah three E and ah and four E and ah. Our kick drum in a Bossa Nova drum beat plays on the ahs and the down beats or the quarter notes. It's going to play on every time you hit one, two, three, and four, but it's also going to play on the ahs as well. If you look at the kick drum. We'll title this kick. One E and ah two E and ah three E and ah four E and ah one. Right? So, that's your kick drum. Now, the snare drum is the difficult out of the three, or the most difficult out of the three. The snare drum is going to be playing on the end of one. Then we'll just go ahead and do that. Then the E of two and the three and the ah of three and the and of four. As you can see the snare drum is one E and ah two E and ah three E and ah four E and. Now that you have this, this is a little, this is easier, this is going to make it easier for you to slow down and you can see Ok on beat one I play the high hat and the kick drum, on the E of one all I do is play the high hat and nothing else, on the and of one I play the snare drum and the high hat and so on. This is just a nice little map that you can take and you can practice and it's going to help you out with playing the Bossa Nova drum beat. Let's go ahead and take a look at what our next drum step is going to be."
