So now we are going to over our F Aeolian chord. Aeolian is the 6th mode of the major scale so F is the 6th degree of A flat major. So we are going to be looking at A flat major scale. So we are going to go through and look at it first. So we are A flat major so we have 4 flats; B flat, E flat, A flat and D flat. So now when we approach the scale we have a 1, 2, flat 3, 4, 5, a flat 6 which is our really stick out note that sticks out and the flat 7. Now the good thing about this chord is it works excellently melodically but when it comes to chord structure, you can hear out when you play that flat 6 that it is really out. So usually you use Dorian mode for copying over minor and you can use Aeolian melodically over that. See how nice that sounds and I am really playing off this flat 6. So you have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, flat 6. It has a nice Spanish tinge to it. Again, you don't want to use it for copying but melodically it works wonders. And that is your Aoelian or your natural minor scale with F as your root.
