So you start with this half step, whole step, half step, then whole, whole, whole, half step, whole step, half step and the whole. So 1 that is your A altered and it is used in a 5 chord in a minor 2,5. So we have E half diminish or locrian to A altered and it resolves to D minor. So that is your A altered scale. "
