"I'm Rick Tobey on behalf of Expert Village and this is Blues Progressions Part 2. Now we're going to take the riff pattern we just learned and we're going to apply it to an actual song. This is a song by Sonny Boy Williamson. It's called "Checking Up on My Baby." And I'll sing a verse just so you get a sense of how the song would go and you can play along with me. And then I'll play it through without singing and you can play along as well. So here we go. One, two, three, four. This is like an introduction where we just stay on the A chord. "Checking up on my baby. I know what she been putting down. Checking up on my baby. I know what she been putting down. So many nights and days been away from the town." And, of course, the song has about four or five verses. And you just play that if you're playing with a band and in between somebody could play some lead guitar. And that's a very useful riff for blues guitar."
