"The blues originated from African Americans when they came over and started working on the plantations in the United States. They involve when they started playing in the fields and from field hollers, work songs and ring shouts. Different types of African Americans songs were used in the early days. It involves into the blues and then sang about the expression of what they know of the sorrows in working in the plantations. The blues includes common chord patterns using the basic chords from the major scale. It has changed in alter to make it sound blue. But first let's look at the chord changes. The chord changes follow a 12 bar pattern. It follows the 1 goes into a 4,1,1. The second group move to a 4,4, and then 1,1, and the last group goes from the 5,4,1,1. This is the common 12 bar blue progression which is used in the blues."
