"Hi, I'm Arie Pytel for Expert Village, and today we're talking about the Cuban tres. Now let's go over some basic scales on the tres. You'll notice that, when we play these scales, we don't always start on the root. Also, when playing these scales, because of our reentrant tuning, sometimes we go down to a lower note, even though we're going up in scale degrees, we might hear a lower sound. Let's start with a G major scale. Here, starting G major at the fourth fret. Now, let's play a G minor scale. Now, G minor at the fifth position."
