You'll notice that, when we play these scales, we don't always start on the root. Also, when playing these scales, because of our reentrant tuning, sometimes we go down to a lower note, even though we're going up in scale degrees, we might hear a lower sound. Let's start with a G major scale. Here, starting G major at the fourth fret. Now, let's play a G minor scale. Now, G minor at the fifth position."
