"Hi. I'm Jabari Pride and we're back with ExpertVillage.com. We just got done talking about some of the equipment that you're going to be using in tracks; as far as the clothes you're going to wear. Now, we are going to talk about the shoes that you are going to wear when you're running. Now, when you're warming up for an event you're going to want to wear, like, a running shoe. Just like, a basic, any type of running shoe you can find in a store. It's going to have a heel on it. It's not really going to have too much flexibility in the shoe because you want to have a stable shoe when you're running around the track or running down the street warming up. Now, for your sprinting events you are going to need a shoe similar to this, this is a sprinting shoe. It doesn't have much of a heel on it. When you put it on the front of the shoe it actually kind of comes up in the front, because when you are running your heel does not touch the; when you're sprinting your heel doesn't touch the ground so you don't need a sole on the back of the shoe. It's going to be a very light thin shoe because you don't need a whole lot of shoe when your running and you don't want to carry around that extra weight. As you notice on the bottom of the shoe; you have what are called spikes. What the spikes do are they give you that extra traction that you are going to need when you're running on a track; whether it be dirt or mondo surface the spikes really help you with that traction so your foot doesn't slip, because every time you slip it's time you're loosing, it's extra distance you're traveling when you're running and it's all about saving time and saving distance. We just got done talking about shoes the next thing we are going to talk about are some safety issues dealing with track and field."
