"Hi. My name is Jabari Pride and you're back with ExpertVillage.com. We just went over a brief history of track and field. Now we are going to go into some of the equipment that you'll be needing when you do compete in track. One of the first things you want to do is you want to warm up for your specific event. Now, when warming up you want to make sure that you are wearing warm clothes; something that is going to help you break a sweat as you're warming up. You might want to start with, maybe like, a shirt and maybe a shirt over that and then a jacket over that; some spandex, maybe some shorter span and then longer spandex on top of that; then follow that up on your last layer; you're going to have some sweat pants, kind of like a jogging suit. Now, that's what you're going to wear if it's really cold outside and you need that extensive amount of layering to keep yourself warm, to make sure that you do break a sweat. As you can see I've also got a hat on to, because you are going to lose a lot of heat and energy through your head so you want to make sure that you keep your head cover when you are warming up. Ok, now with that said if it's warm outside it's not going to take a lot of layering to break that sweat. You can just keep it to, maybe like, a shirt or two maybe some short spandex and some long spandex or just short spandex and a pair of pants that will keep you breaking a sweat. Now, when you're breaking that sweat you want to make sure that you hydrate as well. Alright, now the shoes that you wear are going to be the next segment that we are going to talk about. So what we just covered is the clothing and now we are going to talk about shoes."
