My name is Niall O'Leary from the Niall O'Leary School of Irish Dance in New York City and today I'm demonstrating intermediate Irish step dance. This is a move called the front click. This is where you are swinging both legs high off the floor and it so happens they meet in the air and you get a sound like clicking your heels. This is what the move looks like...now I'm going to show you how to do it. You want to start off making sure that your toes are pointed, your feet are turned out, maybe rotate your ankle a little bit so you can see more of your heel and then try making the sound go to the floor, like this. So if you miss it means that you either didn't cross your feet or maybe one leg is shorter than the other. If that's the case which it is actually for everyone, you want to stretch your shorter leg so that your heels can successfully meet in mid air. So practice it low first and then when you got a little confidence and you've found your perfect point of balance, try doing it higher. Ultimately you want to swing this leg high and swing the following leg really high.
