"Hi this is Yolanda Vanvien on behalf of Expert Village. In this segmant we are going to talk about crocus bulbs, how to pick them out, where they are from and how to plant them. Crocus are also from the Middle East. Most Spring blooming bulbs actually are from Turkey, Iran and the Mountain of Syrias, Syria, all the way to Southern Europe. Crocus generally are found in these native areas, they grow wild all thru these areas, but they also can grow in your garden very well. They are considered a corm, they have this papery cover and they have kind of a bulls eye on the bottom, they look like a hersheys kiss candy, so when planting them, the tip of the candy goes up, when in doubt go sideways, I always plant them about 2 or 3 inches deep in groups of 3 to five or more of them in sun or part shade. And these are mixed colors, you can also usually buy them in seperate colors, the one with the stripes are called "pick wick" then there are yellows, purples and whites and I just usually plant them as a mixed because I just think they are one of the most beautiful early blooming bulbs that you can find. You can also force them to also bloom inside, and all you need to do that is you take a pot and plant about 3 to 5 of them in one pot and then I cover them up, I don't even plant them very deeply inside the house because they are just going to come right up and then put them in a sunny window and then usually within 4 to 6 weeks you're going to have blooms on them. Crocus are one of the best known and one of the most loved flowers in your garden, they are one of the first to bloom. Next we will talk about another early bloomer, Kiona Doxa"
