"On behalf of Expert Village my name is Rodney Fielitz, I'm a certified flight instructor in Cottonwood, Arizona. I'm here to give you the basics on what it takes to become a pilot. On the tail this is called your elevator this goes in and out on your yoke. This is what creates pitch up and down on the airplane. Pitch up or pitch down. It has this control here is a trim. It also trims in the airplane and that can relieve the control pressure so I don't have to sit there and be a strongman to fly this airplane. Again, I'm looking for hinges, there's some pins in here. The tail cone, I'm making sure all the screws are missing, or in place, none are missing. This is your rudder back here, this is what controlled by your feet, this is what controls you as you taxi. Thing thing moves back and forth and I cannot move it by hand, but with the foot pedals it does move. And that wind hits it on this direction and makes the airplane turn to the left. Go this way, wind hits it, makes it turn to the right. So again, we're looking at all the surfaces. We're looking at screws, rivets, and making sure everything is good. I started up there so when I walk up to the wing I'm done with the airplanes preflight inspection."
