"On behalf of Expert Village my name is Rodney Fielitz, I'm a certified flight instructor in Cottonwood, Arizona. I'm here to give you the basics on what it takes to become a pilot. On the front of the airplane what we want to check is we check the leading edge of the propeller. Between eight and ten inches is the most critical point for cracks or stress on the airplane. So we want to make sure that there's no nicks or anything like that in the airplane. Also, we check the other side. Again, it's the leading edge of the propeller. If there is any bad nicks we have them filed out with a mechanic and he takes care of that for us. That way we do not get any cracks going in here. This is what we want to look for. We're also looking at the strut making sure there's air in it. I should be able to go like this on the plane, it does not bottom out. The tires look good, there's no cracks. The exhaust system comes out here. I want to grab a hold of that when its not hot, make sure it's not loose."
