"On behalf of Expert Village my name is Rodney Fielitz I'm a certified flight instructor in Cottonwood, AZ and I'm here to give you the basics of what it takes to become a pilot. In the beginning of the chapter of the manual what it teaches you how to do is before entering the airplane what do we have to do, what kind of checks do we have to make. It tells you how to start the airplane, what steps do you do, and this is one of the things that you really have to get use to. You do use a checklist and be religious with your checklist, you never want to fly airplane without a checklist. In here then it goes through all the steps how to start an engine, what to do after the engine started, check oil pressure, check oil temperature, make sure the field gages are working, it's all part of the safety of flying an airplane. The next step in here before take off goes through a bunch of procedures what you need to do during take off then after that they have take off cline. What is a normal cline? What is the rate of cline for this airplane? What is the air speed do you use for this airplane? And every airplane is different so when you climb in from plane to another it is different, during your basic training we want to stay in one simple airplane so it doesn't get complicated for you. Then it also shows you what to do for setup for maximum cruise, what you're going to do for climbing, and then let down, everything is spelled out in here but some of this stuff we have to start memorizing and then also it goes right back into how to land the airplane."
