"On behalf of Expert Village my name is Rodney Fielitz I'm a certified flight instructor in Cottonwood, AZ and I'm here to give you the basics of what it takes to become a pilot. One of the next things we do cover in ground school is the manual. The airplane manual is the type airplane we're going to be flying and there's a manual produced by the manufacturer for every plane that is made. In this manual we teach you and understand the different phases of this program it teaches you the proper wording first it starts out with the walk around of the airplane. When you walk around the airplane you do the preflight we want to do this in the same method every time we don't ever want to drift away from doing it the same way, we want to get in the habit. And this is one thing with flying you do create habits we try not to say it that way because we don't want bad habits we want all good habits. So part of the training is we go through the manual, we teach you all the rules and regulations, weight and balance of all the airplanes. How much the fuel of the airplane will hold, and how much weight the airplane will hold and we go through the manual again and teach you all different steps. Then we go out into the airplane and then some of this stuff starts sinking in."
