"My name is Kevin Blakeney and on behalf of Expert Village, we are going to show you today how to build levels to elevate your model railroad village to new heights. We are now ready to talk about levels. This is using my favorite product Styrofoam. Now I have mortified this to not only work for model train villages but also for seasonal and holiday Christmas villages. Styrofoam is easy to cut, light weight, easy to glue and perfect for sculpting in which we would get into in the next step. When choosing your levels you want to make sure that you first keep in mind your track plan which you chose earlier. Now you want to include tunnels, center elevations, and elevations to keep your buildings above site lines. So when the train travels in front of them you don't loose any detail. Normally residential areas I put higher up on hills overlooking more of the downtown public squares. That also goes back to your building chooses. So now we are going to chose our elevation. I think we need to do a little higher in the back here. A little more, and I think once we have carved in that tunnel area it is going to look beautiful."
