"Now, next down the line is a pair. In most forms of poker, you need something more than a pair to win. Of course, you can use your judgment. Let's say in stud, you have a pair and you're pretty sure your opponent has only somehow gone all the way through and only made high card. But, in most forms of poker you need to be real cautious with your pair. Now let's consider Texas Hold'em. Let's say someone raised before me and I look down and I see a pair of nines. Well, a pair of nines is often good, but if that person was in early position I'm going to be worried about this hand, prettiest hand in poker, a pair of aces. Of course, most of the time, a pair of nines are good, but remember they're vulnerable to a pair of tens, pair of jacks, queens, kings, aces, ace-king suited. They're not too fond of going up against ace-king suited. So, when you see a pair as your hole cards in Texas Hold'em, be cautious. It's not as strong as it might seem."
