"Hi, I'm Brenda F. Dixon, the owner of Life Help Now in Nashville, Tennessee and we're here today with Expert Village. I wanted to tell you today a little bit about how to handle ADHD in children. One of the important things for you to know about this is structure. Structure is the greatest friend, companion that you can have in handling children that have ADHD. If you take a child out of their element, out of what they're accustomed to you will see some problems. That is so important in the classroom too to stay with doing exactly, keep the routine pretty similar everyday. For example; set up a system in your home that will be able to follow, make a weekly schedule, make a weekend schedule and even as a parent go so far as to make a schedule on what to do when you have a holiday or when you have a celebration. All these things will make your life simpler. Your child will be happier in an environment that they know is going to be the same or similar for you. So be able to understand that structure is your friend in helping and dealing and handling a child that has ADHD."
