"Hi, my name is Hayley Kaufman and I am a licensed cosmetologist and I am here on behalf of Expert Village. In this series I am going to show you how to do makeup like a pro. Now we are ready to do our eyes. We are going to do a nice daytime look. So for those of you who don't like to wear a lot of makeup, just something very light and very natural looking. You always start with your shadow base. You just take a little bit with your finger and put it throughout your whole shadow lid. It is a cream and if you do too much it is going to crease the eye shadow so you just want to put the lightest little layer that you can. That will make your shadow stay on longer, looking fresher longer. I am just going to do very light colors, very natural looking. It is a trio in here. And just your everyday brushes, are all natural hair brushes. Just in a couple of different sizes. And let me show you how to do it. You want to take a little bit on your fingertips of the shadow base and I just like to dot it and then you rub it in. Like I said, don't get too much just get it all over. Go on to the next side. So one really important thing to remember when you are doing eyeshadow is, dark colors bring things back and light colors bring things forward. So if you want something to stand out you want to do a lighter color. For me, here I have a lot of excess skin and goes over my lid so I like to do a light color on the lid and a dark color in the crease. I am going to get a little thicker of a brush a little bigger and use the white. It's a nice shimmer so if you are a little bit older and have more wrinkles you don't want to use a shimmer. It will fall into the wrinkles and stand out a lot more. Something also very important to remember is that the first place you put the brush is where the most powder is going to come out. So most of the time, especially with a darker color, you are going to want to start on the outside and work in. Okay now that I have the light color on, I am going to go to a little bit smaller of a brush. It's not tiny. It's still going to fit into the crease, the center. I going to take this gold looking color, a medium brown. Get the excess powder off. And on most people you can see a shadow already there, so it is a little bit easy to follow. You are just following the very top of the eyeball. If you feel right here, you can feel where the eyeball starts and the bone stops. So you are just going to follow that. Your brush fits perfectly in there too. Okay and there you go. There is your eye shadow."
