"What we want to talk about not is trying to get the most out of our kickoff returns or our punt returns. So many time you see these guys that will catch the ball and want to head to the sidelines or they may take five yards in one direction and reverse their field and they'll try to run all the way around the end to pick up a lot of yardage. The best way to get the most out of a return is to get the ball up the field north and south. We've also talked about the importance of using blockers. That's also going to help you get the most out of your return. If you can somehow stay behind blockers, if the blocker is going off to the right side and you can ride this guy as far as you possibly can, when they start throwing their blocks you can squeeze through and get into the open field, then get down the field as much as you possibly can. The main thing is you have to catch the ball. You have to get it up the field. You have to go north and south, not east and west. Don't try to run all the way around the field just to pick up a couple of yards. Take it up the field and pick up as much as you possibly can."
