"Hi, this is Sean Hobson, for Expert Village. What we want to talk about now is the proper way when our return man catches the ball, he's going to get it out of there, he's going to take it up field and pick up as much positive yardage as possible. When he catches the ball we want him to catch it to one side or the other and store it away. The second thing we want him to do is catch it with good balance so when he catches the ball he's ready to explode out of there. One thing we don't want our return guys to do is to take time, dance around, and then try to find an opening. We want him to catch the ball and get it north south as fast as he possibly can. Once they turn it up field if they see an avenue that they can cut it back or they can break it to the sidelines, then they can make that decision. We want to try to pick up as much yardage as possible right off the bat. What we're going to show you with our return guy is when he catches the ball watch how he quickly gets the ball, gets it stored away, and explodes up the field. Then he'll find his opening gaps. This is what it looks like (video demo). You saw right away he catches the ball, he gets it up field. Usually you'll have guys flying down at you and if you catch the ball and get it up the field quickly most of the time they'll fly by you. If you stop and look around you'll get tackled for a loss. So, catch the ball and get it down field."
