"Hi, this is Sean Hobson, for Expert Village. What we want to talk about is running a basic reverse out of the I formation. What we mean by the I formation is that we have two running backs in the backfield lined up straight behind the quarterback. The first player is the fullback in a three point stance. Then we have our tailback in the two point stance (video demo). Our quarterback is going to turn and fake it to the first man through which is our fullback. Once that fullback takes the fake he will go through and be a lead blocker on this side. This is the important guy in the reverse. He's going to take the hand off from the quarterback and start heading toward our receiver. At this point in time, our receiver is already heading in this direction. Right now, the running back will give the ball away, the quarterback will be out in front blocking and our wide receiver will be running to this side following his blockers. He's going to be following the guard, the wide receiver and going through the hole on this side of the field. That's the proper way to run the reverse out of the I formation."
