"Hi, this is Sean Hobson, for Expert Village. What we want to talk about is in order for our guard to be effective in the offensive line he has to have a good stance and he has to be able to fire up out of that stance properly. First, we want to talk about the stance of the guard. He'll be in a three point stance. That is he'll have his hand down with his off arm on his leg ready to explode. His right leg should be slightly back if he is on the right side inside. If he lines up to the left side he wants his left leg back a little and his left arm down. You always want your outside arm on the side that you are from the ball. If the ball is to his left, then he is to the right of the ball and he wants his right arm on the outside. This will allow him to explode through into the play as he brings the right foot up and it gives him a lower center of gravity than the defensive player. He's not too far forward or he'll be off balance. He's good and sturdy with his butt down and he's ready to explode up. That's a good stance for a guard."
