"Hi, this is Sean Hobson for Expert Village. What we are talking about right now is the importance of our line in the 6-2 defense. A good line in the 6-2 defense makes all the difference in the world. If we don't have a line that can get good penetration against the offensive line, it does us no good to run the 6-2 defense. What we're trying to do, is we're trying to out man them up front. That's why you bring this many guys up this close to the line of scrimmage. So the ultimate job of these guys is to get down in a three point stance, and as soon as the ball snaps, they come up, sack somebody in the mouth and drive as hard as they possibly can across the offensive line trying to either make a stop in the outfield, a quarterback sacked or somehow stretch the play out wide and get a stop. So it?s very very important to have big guys up front, guys that stay low, guys that can fire off fast and they can get across that line, disrupt the play and make a big stop forcing the 6-2 defense. You cannot run a 6-2 properly unless you have a good front six."
