Series Summary

Modern football began in 1874 and has been a famed American sport for competitive teams of all ages. The object of the games is to advance the football into the opposing team’s end zone. This is called a touchdown. There are other ways to gain points in football including two-point conversions and field goals. The team with the most touchdowns or other points wins. As a running back it is your responsibility to fight and claw your way for every yard and beyond any other factor, hold on to the ball!

As offense goes the running back is like the vice president. The quarterback's second in command. He always wants the ball in pressure or goal line situations and when he has it he fights for as much yardage as he can. This is a great series for anyone who is or is thinking of becoming a running back or half back. Our expert will go through every aspect of the positions from possible stances to how to hold the ball as you run to breaking tackles. There are also more advanced moves covered that pros use such as the spin move and the stiff arm. If you can master these there is no stopping you!

"Everything ready to explode forward with good balance. Hi, this is Sean Hobson for Expert Village. We want to talk about now a proper stance in balance of our running backs. There are two different ways running backs are going to get into stance. If you are a tailback or if you're running back or split like a pro set formation, then typically your running backs are going to go into what we call two point stance. Obviously the two point stance you want to have your feet shoulder width apart. You don't want to be to wide because your going to get out in a slow start. You don't want to be to close because it's going to keep you off balance. So about shoulder width apart, you want to rest your hands on your thighs so you have quick explosion; you don't want to get out here on your knees. You don't want to be leaning too much forward or you don't want to be leaning too much back you want to have your body up and a good stance. So that you can explode out the other stance is the three point stance and that would be used by a fullback. A fullback when he goes down to three point stance; again he wants to start with a good base, he want to rest one hand here put the other hand out. So that he has good balance, he's looking up and he's ready to explode out of the play. So we have the tallback and the two point stance, we have your fullback in the three points stance and everything is balanced everything ready to go forward with good balance."
