Video Transcript

"Hi, my name is Matt Vansteenis and on behalf of Expert Village we are going to learn how to snowboard today at Cannonsburg Ski Resort in beautiful Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this segment, we'll show you how to do the rope tow. There's two different ways to do the rope tow: with the rope behind you and the rope in front of you. We'll do the rope behind you first. So, like I said, I'm left foot forward, which is regular, so as I skate up to the rope tow, skate up with my foot behind me, wait for the rope to come to me, put it in your front hand, put it behind you and just grab onto it very slowly with both hands until you grip onto it good and it starts pulling you up the hill. The thing to remember too, when you're riding the rope tow, always keep those shoulders straight, so parallel with everything else that's below you and you just let the rope do the work. Don't try to fight it, don't try to turn, just kind of sit back, and enjoy the ride."
