"Hi my name is Matt Vansteenis, and on behalf of Expert Village, we are going to learn how to snowboard today at Cannonsburg Ski Resort in beautiful Grand Rapids, Michigan. Alright, so now that we are all strapped into our boards, in this segment we are going to talk about how to skate in the flat spots so you can get to your destination faster, i.e. the lift or the rope tow. So we are in the flats here, we have got our one foot strapped in, our lead foot, so the foot that always goes first down the hill, that is the one that you want to strap in. Now there are a couple of different ways to skate. Some kids like the foot in front of the board method. I think it is really uncomfortable, and it kind of tweaks your knee a lot, so in order to stay as comfortable as possible, I put my foot that is out of the binding behind me. So I think this is more comfortable, you can kind of see where you are going better, your knees are not so bent and tweaked all around, and you can kind of move a little bit quicker if you need to so foot in back is the way that I skate."
