"Now it's time to talk about one of my personal favorite tricks, the Nollie 270. Once you have your Nollie 180s figured out, this one, it's a considerable step more difficult past that. At the same time once you have it figured out, it really is one of my favorite tricks. The best thing to learn it on, with most things involving 270s is a hip. Generally something that's a little bit steep that has a little bit of lift to it but also something that isn't too steep because you want to make sure that when you're learning it that you learn how to get a good solid pop off of the front wheel and you don't you know, kind of rely on the lift to give you that lift. It's similar in some ways to a Nollie 180 but it actually shares more similarities, I think, with a bunny hop 360, in terms of the way that you spin, the way that you look over your shoulder and what not. You want to make sure to get a little bit speed, enough that if you were going to do a bunny hop you could get a solid pop over the edge of the hip and you want to come in actually at the hip, so that you are going to spin a little bit more than 270 degrees because that will give you a better way to carry momentum as you're rolling out. So like a Nollie 180, you want to throw your weight forward over that corner of sort of this gap right in here between your front tire and your handlebar. Imagine that there is a triangle here and you're trying to throw your weight out towards this end of the triangle because again it generates that spin. The thing with doing a Nollie 270 is that it really requires that you get a more solid pop than you do on a Nollie 180 because you have to generate enough pop to spin over 180 degrees, and you have to do it all with your arms. So it's pretty difficult. That's also why this trick is nearly impossible to learn on flat ground. Once you get it figured out, you can do Nollie 360s on flat ground but that's a really, really difficult trick. So you just want to keep in mind that you get your weight thrown over, get a good solid pop then once you're there, you're not trying to whip the bike around so much. You want to pop and then almost duck your front end through so that you're not spinning much through your front wheel axis but more through the center of the bike, like a Bunny Hop 360. You want to keep in mind to sort of look through your armpit to keep your front end down, which is especially important over hips, and then just keep looking. This trick frustrated me for at least a year. It was one of those things that I would work on pretty much every time I would go riding and it took me a really long time to figure out how to do it but now that I have, I know I've said this a couple of times but it's really true, it is easily one of my favorite tricks and it's also something that you don't see a whole lot of people doing, so it's a really good one to impress all your friends."
