"Michael Lewis with Yeshua martial arts on behalf of Expert Village, we are here today to talk about basic striking techniques. Now we are going to cover the out kick. Of course, obviously if you're going to use an in kick you strike with the inside of the foot. If you're going to strike with an out kick you're going to strike with the outside of the foot or rather the blade of the foot. As you're striking you're going to move in across your center line and then move your foot out. Pretty much you're kicking on the opposite side that you would with the in kick. You are going to use the out kick; it's going to kick onto the right side of the person. As you bring your leg up you're going to point your knee up, over here off to the side, and slap your leg across. Just like this. You bring your leg up and snap it across. As you do that keep in mind the whipping action that is where a lot of your power comes from. You can bring it up with a straight leg, it's not going to have a whole lot of power, but if you bring in the whipping action to it you have a little bit more power into your strike. Also again, another way to use this just like the in kick striking to the inside of the leg. Use an out kick to strike to the outside of the leg and also use the blade of the foot. As you're sparring it's a very quick and subtle strike that most people would not be able to catch or block. You come in and strike to the outside of the knee. You can also use your other leg, your left leg to throw an out kick and that will help you strike to the inside of the knee. That way you can break down your opponent and possibly be able to get him down to the ground to finish him off. That is just an overview of how you'd use your outside kick."
