"Michael Lewis with Yeshua martial arts on behalf of Expert Village, we are here today to talk about basic striking techniques. Now we are covering the in kick. The in kick is a very simple kick. You're going to use the inside of your foot and you're bringing it in, in across your body across, towards your center line. Your leg is going to come out and in across the center line. If he has his shield up I'm going to bring up my leg and kick inward just like that and pull it straight back. Always keep in mind to keep your balance. Also, if you want to, the more you practice it you'll become more aware of it you point your knee in ahead of your foot that way when you slap your leg in you'll that; again, that whipping action much like the towel or tee-shirt. That way you'll be able to develop a lot more power out of this kick. Again, you bring it up, point the knee in and then slap your kick across. That way you'll be able to develop a hard strike. The other way to use the in kick is a little bit lower to the ground down here at the legs. If we're sparring I can take my foot and throw a quick strike to the inside of the leg, into the inside of the knee. That way I'm able to take a person down very, very quickly. Also keep in mind that when you use the inside of your foot you can also use the back part of your heel a little bit more. You can turn it slightly inward so that you are striking primarily with the inside of the heel. That way you're developing a very hard striking surface or your developing a very painful strike to his knee. That way you're able to pop and damage his knee if you're in a self-defense situation that calls for that. That's just a quick overview of your basic in kick."
